Many people in the know look toward the Republic of South Africa (RSA) as a bell weather of how things could possibly go sideways here in the US.

Last month we say the riots and general anarchy arising from the result of the arrest of Zuma and certain elements in South Africa were quick to fan the flames (pun warning) of discontent among his supporters.

What resulted was a billion or so in losses and a blow to the logistical systems of RSA.  Compare this to the strife seen last summer in the looting and arson in the D controlled cities here.

Fast forward to August and the RSA is seeing a break down of order in Phoenix, RSA.  Sadly, the situation has broken down among racial lines pitting blacks against Indians.  All this in a nation which has been hanging over the precipice for some years now.

In a sudden bout of racial killings, a South African suburb sees a dark history repeating itself

The telling quote from the linked article is this, “We didn’t get freedom,…We only got democracy.” This closely echoes the equity vs. equality voices here in America.

One would do well to read the winds as they come from our friends in the southern hemisphere.
